ETG Treatment
Excessive hair loss affects millions of men and women worldwide. It is estimated that pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia will affect up to 60% of men and 30% of women during their lifetimes. In women, it is characterized by general thinning with moderate loss at the hairline and crown; in men, by a receding hairline with moderate or extensive loss at the crown.
Many excessive hair loss sufferers have turned to the promises of various potions or unproven therapies with few, if any, measurable results. Others have simply given up hope. Now they have an effective, safe option - Current Technology's ETG Treatment.
ETG is a new non-invasive option
ETG Treatment is a non-drug, non-surgical medical option for those seeking a clinically proven response to continued excessive hair loss. ETG, or ElectroTrichoGenesis, involves the non-invasive stimulation of hair follicles on the scalp by the positive influence of an electrostatic field.
Electrical frequencies proven to stimulate healing.
Over the years, medical researchers have discovered that certain electrical frequencies stimulate healing responses in various parts of the body including soft-tissue repair and bone healing. Current Technology Corporation applied this research to the development of a treatment for common baldness called ETG Treatment.
ETG inhibits excessive hair loss... and often promotes new growth. As excessive hair loss advances, the hair becomes progressively thinner and shorter
until it reaches a dormant state and disappears completely. While the process is not fully understood, ETG Treatment appears to alter this dormant state by stimulating the follicles and inhibiting further excessive hair loss. And in many cases, promoting regrowth.
In a recent peer-reviewed published report, it was established that ETG can help chemotherapy patients retain their hair during treatment.
ETG Treatment Procedure
ElectroTrichoGenesis (ETG) involves the use of an ETG device. The ETG device is an ergonomically designed chair with a semi spherical hood containing electrodes. Once the patient reclines on the chair, the hood is positioned over the patients scalp area and the device is turned on.
There is no direct contact between the hood of the ETG device and the scalp of the patient. Energy is delivered passively to the scalp by the low-level electric field generated within the hood. This electric field is created by a low frequency, low intensity electrostatic pulse used to stimulate the scalp with very limited tissue penetration.
Typically, patients will receive ETG Treatments once or twice weekly. Each treatment lasts approximately 12 minutes. Positive responses to treatment are usually observed within 12 to 24 weeks and treatments must be continued weekly to maintain the beneficial response. The standard protocol involves a 36 week schedule which entails one treatment per week with the exception of weeks 1, 2, 17, 18, 33, and 34 in which two sessions are required.
Studies have demonstrated ETG is a safe and effective clinical response to androgenetic alopecia in suitable candidates. Exactly how ETG works is not known. However, electrical stimulation has been shown to enhance bone healing and soft tissue repair and ETG researchers theorize the process may be similar.
Researchers hypothesize dormant hair follicles are responding to specific current levels and wave characteristics.
